GLFF Mission Statement

Green Lifestyle Film Festival Inc.

MISSION STATEMENT:

Only when we expose ourselves to the very rawness of who we are can we engage in a healing and restorative process with ourselves and the rest of Nature.

The films which are chosen by a Board of Submissions (its' members are appointed by our founder, Dorit) range from those showing the rawness of non-induced, natural birthing ( in or out of water), to the disintegration of the human form and all the rawness of our own responses to this process that we call "Death"; to eating foods that have been uncooked and minimally modified and eaten as close to their natural and fresh state that the Earth presents them to us as possible, while still satisfying our addiction to gourmet, chef-driven cuisine; to looking at how we have entire cultures set up around the abuse and exploitation of animals and the ensuing dramatic  and unprecedent acceleration of climate change that we are all experiencing; to the growing industrialization and monopolization of our food supply; to disease maintenance by entire industries whose very existence are dependent on a constant source of ill and diseased populations.

Films that are chosen to be shown at the Green Lifestyle Film Festival (GLFF) also look at how our decisions regarding transportation, shelter, overpopulation, overconsumption and  financial concerns and entertainment have a deep impact on our daily lives as well as on all other life forms on Planet Earth.

The Green Lifestyle Film Festival therefore fills the void left by most modern day media/visual arts entities in giving a voice to the disenfranchised and those starving for real connection and inclusion in the choices offered in films today.

VISION:

Believing that most of the maladies, violence and apathy that is so prevalent in most societies that live outside of the laws of Nature can best be addressed by the very powerful medium of film, we are on a campaign to find filmmakers and potential film makers who share this perspective and give them a chance to screen their films to a hungry and appreciative audience in venues that offer sustainable elegance and modern day conveniences.

PURPOSE:

To provide a welcome place for Films which capture the heart and set the intention to live from a place of rawness, openness and transformation, so the magic of life will unfold.

In this spirit, the filmmakers are welcomed at the Opening Ceremony on Friday with a Green Carpet Event, followed by an Eco Cuisine Gourmet Reception, before moving into the theatre where the celebration begins.

All the films that are chosen to be screened at the Green Lifestyle Film Festival (GLFF) are automatically guaranteed a Green Apple Award at the Sunday night Gala Awards Dinner & Ceremony ( a Black Tie event).

INTENTION:

To create a film festival that offers a very courageous and in depth approach at examining and suggesting lifestyles that are compatible with the Laws of Nature.

GOALS:

To use the intrinsic power of films to inspire, motivate, educate and assist in change on a large scale until the transformation that is necessary will automatically occurr.

To attract donors and sponsors who will make it possible to give grants to filmmakers who are unable to pay the submissions fees required to submit a film to the film festival, or to purchase the equipment and pay crews proper wages to make films with powerful messages as yet unprecedented in the modern era of film making, while at the same time, being consciousof the  carbon footprint created in making such films..

ACTION:

This is 2 Fold:

1.) An annual. international weekend film festival starting from Friday evening to Sunday night, with the filmmakers present to offer their stories and answer questions from the audience. This includes live foods, musicians and other entertainers as well as sponsors and vendors which support our vision.

2) There is also a Teen/Pre-teen Project aimed at bringing the voices of children on film.

With enough sponsorship our intention is to connect with children lost in violence and abuse and teach them how to get their stories told through film, while making the connection (on film ) to their own personal experiences and show how this is mirrored in the environmental issues we are all facing now, with the focus being on offering solutions.

The Green Lifestyle Film Festival started as the vision and constant, day to day, arduous work of one person (its' founder Dorit) working long hours, to make it a reality. After 3 years of solitary work as a one woman show, it has now has grown into 18 more dedicated team members and we welcome those who are willing to let go of instant ego needs, and wish to work with us to change the way that films are used to impact our society.

This is a 501 ©3 non profit corporation which is based on community support and funded by donations, subscriptions and sponsorships.
